Journal Papers
- "Material-Discontinuity-Preserving Progressive Mesh Using
Vertex-Collapsing Simplification"
Shu-Kai Yang, Jung-Hong Chuang
Journal of Virtual Reality (JVR), 2003, Vol. 6, No. 4
Press Website:
http://link.springer.de/link/service/journals/10055/
Abstract: We present a vertex-collapsing
mesh reduction scheme that effectively takes shape and feature
preserving as well as material-discontinuity preserving into account,
and produces a progressive mesh.
- "A Novel Progressive Modeling Algorithm for 3D Models"
Shu-Kai Yang, Chin-Chen Chang, Ding-Zhou Duan, Ming-Fen Lin
The Journal of Visualization and Computer Animation (JVCA), 2002, Vol 13:187-198
Press Website:
http://www.interscience.wiley.com/jpages/1049-8907/
Abstract: We propose a new simplification
method to generate a progressive mesh of a model with the efficient and
smooth transitions between meshes at different resolutions.
- "A Fuzzy-based Approach to Mesh Simplification"
Chin-Chen Chang, Shu-Kai Yang, Ding-Zhou Duan, Ming-Fen Lin
Journal of Information Science and Engineering (JISE), 2002, Vol
18:459-466
Press Website: http://www.iis.sinica.edu.tw/JISE/
Abstract: In this paper we propose a
fuzzy-based error metric to maintain surface error approximations while
simplifying models.
